What cooks pay
Listing is free. When you sell, we take $1.50 per item — a fixed amount, not a percentage, whatever the item costs. That’s all we take.
When it’s taken
Out of your payout, when the order settles. You never pay us anything up front. A dish that’s refunded owes no fee, and we absorb Stripe’s processing on it — Stripe keeps its fee on a refund, and that comes out of ours, not yours.
What Stripe takes, separately
Card payments run through Stripe, and Stripe charges for processing each one. That fee is Stripe’s, not ours — we pass it through at cost. When one order has food from several cooks, each pays a share of it in proportion to what they sold. Stripe’s standard US card rate is 2.9% + 30¢ per payment; they set it, and some cards cost more.
Worked example: one $18.00 dish
- The customer pays
- $18.00
- Our fee
- −$1.50
- Stripe’s processing (at 2.9% + 30¢)
- −$0.82
- You receive
- $15.68
Sales tax, where it applies, is charged to the customer on top and doesn’t come out of this. Tips go to you.
Holds, refunds and changes
Payouts can be held for a short period to cover refunds and chargebacks, and a refund reverses the matching payout. If we ever change our fee, we’ll tell you first. The terms are in the Chef / Vendor Agreement, section 5.
